#CCares Day

Every year Comcast dedicates a day to community service. This year they unleashed 90,000 volunteers on communities around the world. CIHAD entered our campus and Ruby Hill was chosen as a volunteer site! 

We received a donation for each participant and Denver turned out.

Crews set up planters, painted wall art, organized libraries, cleaned the grounds and put together picnic tables.

I figured the picnic table assembly would be an easy route to a great sense of accomplishment. Wrong.

Turns out that reading the directions first is the difference between attaching your legs one time or four. Bringing your own tools is never a bad idea. 

Sharing two drills with 20+ people putting together six tables isn’t exactly a streamlined process.

At long last (after many grunts and much sweat), our super sturdy table was ready for lunch. Many thanks to the Bloom Church Crew who showed up!
